I would like to dull down the chrome on my grill. I don’t really want to paint it body-colour, since I can’t find a perfect match in paint colour. I would like to use something like this:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I’m interested in the Smoke colour to get it as close to the body colour while preserving the chrome-style shine.
Photoshoppos, can you (plz) change my current grille to a smoked/pewter look to give me an idea of whether or not I should do it?

I hear that plasti-dip is all the rage for that.

Nissan Murano. the chrome/plastic is bubbly, always happens to them. but I’m interested to see how yours turns out since I may go a different finish/color as well.

Have you thought about trying PlastiDip? That would let you try something, but easily peel it off if you don’t like it or want something different.
I redid my wheels last year with it and it’s held up very well.

1. I don’t know where to get it in Canada, Dupli-colour has something similar but their selection is a bit lacking.
2. Can you get that sort of finish in Plasti-dip?

Frankly that would be my preferred option but:

2. Can you get that sort of finish in Plasti-dip? Your wheels look more of a brushed finish than gloss.

1) I’ll ask my friend where he got it. I live in Montreal and I know he just dipped his A4.
2) You an really customize the finish with plasti-dip to anything you want mixing various colors in layers. It’s rather amazing.

I ordered mine online here . Not sure if they shop to Canada.
I tried my best to get a gloss finish, but it is rather matte. I did 5 coats of color and 2 coats of the clear gloss. Might have been glossier if I did more coats, but I’m not sure.

Canadian Tire carries Protect-Dip or whatever, which is basically the same stuff, from what I can tell.

I think you’ve hit it—thanks. I think I’m going to use their smoke tint.

I see that someone else has shopped for you, so I guess I don’t need to anymore. So therefore I will just say, “V8 Colorado, nice!”
